Anointing of the Sick

Arrangements for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick can be made by calling the Cathedral Office (719-473-4633) or by speaking to one of the priests after Mass.

If the person is actively dying, call the office number, dial extension 2 for the emergency line, and leave a message. We try to respond promptly to requests to anoint our parishioners.

Parishioners are encouraged to call whenever they or a family member are sick and/or hospitalized. Arrangements can be made for Holy Communion to be brought to the sick and homebound by an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC).

Please have someone notify the Cathedral Office if you are seriously ill or will be hospitalized.

Anointing of the Sick is celebrated communally at the 12:10 pm Mass every year on the Memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes, please check calendar for exact date.
