Sunday Morning

On Sundays from 10:10am-10:55am, and 11:05am-11:50am we have faith formation classes for children ages pre-K to 12. The first session is primarily to benefit English speaking families and the second session is designed for the needs of our Spanish speaking families. Registration takes place every year beginning in August.

Religious Education Program

St. Mary's has a long and proud tradition of providing high quality faith formation for people of all ages. We aim to continue that tradition by offering a variety of programs for parishioners at all stages of their faith lives. We are always looking for faith-filled Catholics who are eager to share their faith with others and serve as catechists in our programs.

Youth Ministry

“Youth ministry is the response of the Christian community to the needs of young people, and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community. The Holy Father’s challenge for youth ministry rests on three essential goals: (1) Empowering young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today; (2) Drawing young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community; and (3) Fostering the personal and spiritual growth of each young person.” (Renewing the Vision, 2).

Following these directives, the youth ministry program at St. Mary’s Cathedral strives to provide strong faith formation to help youth respond to the unique struggles they face in today's society and culture. The format includes the study of scripture, the writings of the Fathers of the Church, Great Saints, as well as church history and doctrines.

Sunday Afternoon

Our Sunday afternoon classes are from 2:00pm-3:00pm on fourteen Sundays through the year. These classes are for those who are enrolled in our First Reconciliation/First Eucharist or Youth Confirmation program. The classes are for children of both English and Spanish speaking families, and are required in addition to attendance at the Sunday morning religious education classes. In compliance with diocesan policy, children must be enrolled in RE for two years in order to receive a sacrament. Registration takes place every year beginning in August.

Sunday Adult Class

On Sundays from 10:10am-10:55am, the Adult Class meets in the North part of the Cathedral Center. The class follows the lectionary readings that we hear at Mass. Each class covers the readings for the following Sunday and provides an opportunity to reflect for the week on the upcoming Sunday's scriptural themes. Come join the heart of St. Mary's community! Everyone is welcome.
